The Government’s White Paper, Equity and excellence: liberating the NHS, set out how the Secretary of State for Health will hold the NHS Commissioning Board to account for delivering better health outcomes through a national NHS Outcomes Framework 
 
Liberating the NHS: commissioning for patients - consultation on proposals
The Government’s White Paper, Equality and excellence: liberating the NHS, published on 12 July, set out proposals for putting local consortia of GP practices in charge of commissioning services to best meet the needs of local people, supported by an independent NHS Commissioning Board. DH is now launching a consultation and engagement process on how we should implement these proposals.  
 
Liberating the NHS: Increasing democratic legitimacy in health
This consultation builds on the proposals in the White Paper to increase local democratic legitimacy in health. This will be achieved through local authorities: i) being given a stronger role in supporting patient choice and ensuring effective local voice ii) taking on local public health improvement functions, and iii) promoting more effective NHS, social care and public health commissioning arrangements. 
 
 
Liberating the NHS: regulating healthcare providers
This document is part of a public consultation on implementation of proposals in the White Paper and supporting papers. It further outlines proposals on foundation trusts and the establishment of Monitor as an independent economic regulator for health and adult social care. It seeks views on specific consultation questions  
 
Consultation on changes to the allocation formulae for the Learning Disability Commissioning Transfer Grant, Preserved Rights Grant and AIDS Support Grant
The Department of Health (DH) is asking for your views on options for distributing three DH social care grants from 1st April 2011. This consultation does not prejudge the outcome of the Spending Review, which will be announced on 20 October 2010 
 
Consultation- Opportunity to help improve care services for adults
A consultation to help improve care services and healthcare outcomes for adults with autism in England was launched today by Care Services Minister Paul Burstow.
